Have you ever wondered why they keep say 'don't speed, speed kills'? Looking at the title of this entry, you might think that i 'm talking something related to my driving lessons but NO! Gary SPEED really kills!
Big Sam has been talking about Speed in the pre-match conference commenting that he could be the key and playing professional football at the age of 37 is not something anyone can do easily (although teddy has top that by 3 years). Speed doesn't need his speed to play, with his overflowing experience, calmness, strength and technique, he outwits players. At this age, being picked regularly is no joke! (Maybe it only applies to bolton :D).

Speedless Speed gives Bolton the lead.....

Bolton were having a progressive start to the game at the reebok stadium. They were getting more possession as time passes gradually. Liverpool were a little more dorminant initially. Till 28th min, Reina the big clown pumps the ball outside the box though he handled it inside. Freekick awarded. I mean as a goalkeeper, don't you know such simple rules or you can't see white lines? I don't even think Xiong will even committ this kinda of stupid mistake. Just goes to show how dumb can Reina get at times like what he did at Merseyside derby. He caught the ball and threw it up in the air, maybe he can join Tim Howard for basketball sessions or join the Merseyside Basketball Team. On the 29th min, Speed rifles the ball into the net after a lay off from Campo. Simple yet destructing shot. After that Speedy goal , bolton looked more confident in their passing and distribution of long balls. First half whistle gone and second half started soon. Bolton came into the second half with much confidence still, There could be some half-time inspirational talk by Big Sam. In the 50th min, Liverpool were punished for sloppy defending. Nicky Hunt sends a cross into the box and Campo out jumps Finnan to head in the 2nd for Bolton!!!! Campo smiles again and he always seem like a happy man. I think he should be called up for Spain after having dropped Raul haha! Bolton defended well as a team which i like it very much. In the 60th min, I was well impressed by Campo once again for his defensive qualities. Garcia was quite open to cut into the box already but Campo rushes back to make a last ditch sliding tackle to dispossess him.

Liverpool didn't have any clear cut chances except for an outside box volley that Alonso took, hit the post. Thats the closest they came, followed by a header from Kuyt which Jaaskelainen reacts quickly to parry it away. Liverpool performed poorly in this second half. Poor passing giving the ball away too often and poor defending as well. I'm feeling hungry now, still 88th min, can't wait to go buy my dinner. I read seba's blog during half time and was quite surprised by his comments. He commented on why he piced bolton to win this game. Firstly Bolton has always been good at home. Secondly, they are good at set pieces which Liverpool are lousy at defending them. Lastly, Liverpool are weak in crosses as well. All three statements above are true! Seba is damn happy now cause he bought Bolton to win, bought Campo in his FPL and lastly, as United fans, it's always great to see Liverpool drop points!
