We don't deserve this kinda results....
When i first woke up, Life was good for me with Scotland beating France a goal to nil. Gary Caldweld. He's my god of fortune! Although Flecther didn't score but i think he must have played well. Got ready and went to meet the rest at xiong's block. Soon we set off to Fuhua Secondary for our field match against Dairy Farmers.
We reached the field and immediately got changing, and this fat ass from chestnut drive commented on our jerseys in a sarcastic manner:" wow they got jersey man." Felt like telling him :" We got team, i know you jealous that you got no team cause nobody wants a loser like you."
The first half kicked off and we got the ball kicking around. Just early into the match, Chris headed a corner which bounced off a defender's leg and the ball landed to me feet. I just did a simple first touch half volley to place it into the net. GOAL!!! We were 1-0 up!! My teammates congratulated my for scoring on my first attempt to play as an attacking midfielder. I felt so happy at that time and i run past that fat ass raising my hands for joy. Just moments after my goal, James picked out Roy with a through pass and Roy calmly chips the ball over Sheng. 1-1. We were still enjoying the share of possession and were continously attacking them. Corner kick. Someone delivered it and Des was shouting for his player to head it away. Failing to do so, it bounced off Des's shoulders and went into his own net. Own GOAL!!! 2-1. I felt sorry for Des cause it's not a great start for him and defenders dread own goals. We were playing some great football till we conceded a corner which led to an equaliser scored by James. Jere committed too quickly so James took advantage of that and slot the ball into the net.2-2. The halftime whistle was blown and it was two all.
Second half started after 10mins of halftime break. Doing well till Xiong gave away a penalty from a throw in. While the ball was in the air, Xiong mistimed his challenge, lost his balance and fell. As xiong fell, that guy smartly took a dive as well. From the back, it looked like xiong chopped him down but the fact is that xiong didn't touch him at all! You know someone like xiong is so honestly that he won't lie about such things. Roy took the penalty and converted it with Sheng diving to his right. 3-2 to them. Somehow they went 4-2 up. We were still determined to fight back and chris ran past their defence, making it the 3rd goal for us. 4-3. Things got worse when james ran past me, followed by jianhao, jere and chuan before making it 5-3. Moment of magic from James. 20 mins from the game, they made it 6-3. We tried to get back but we missed a couple of chances. Everything went wrong in the second half. The final whistle was blown. Match ended.
BIG QUESTIONS
1. Should Xing continue to play as an attacking midfielder?
As an attacking midfielder, his job is to provide through passes to the strikers and score goals as well. Has he done that? I would say yes cause he scored the opener for his team. He picked out his strikers a couple of times just that they weren't sufficient. In this first attempt as an attacking midfielder, he didn't shine but did some decent stuffs. He wasn't outstanding in that position neither was he lousy at it. There were times when he ran back to defend and one great moment was to tackle James outside the penalty box bringing it up and passing it to his teammate for a counter attack. However, the ball was lost somehow. I wonder how does the team think of him playing in that position and how he fared for that match. Some might object to let him play there again feeling that he's more needed as a centre back. I feel that he needs more time in order to shine as an attacking midfielder. Will he be given another chance?
2. What went wrong in the second half?
Well, i think the penalty was the turning point. It brought down Xiong's confidence a hell lot. Thats another thing that defenders wouldn't want to give away. It's always bad when your centre back loses his confidence. Our defence weren't working as a unit. Jo went up to often without any cover at his back. That gave Xiong alot of problem when they countered us. We needed luck during second half but there weren't any. Ben and Chris just missed a few decent chances. I don't blame them but praise them for doing so well upfront. They linked up each other quite well, with chris torturing the defenders. Our defenders were not fast enough for their strikers too.
3. Oscar Award goes to.....
There's this cheat in their team who dived twice during crucial moments. He wore the shirt with the word 'emmanuel' in front. Firstly, he dived to earn the penalty for his team. Secondly, when jo made a clean challenge from the side, he just jumped over, yelled and tumble on the ground. Ridiculously, the ref awarded them a free kick and even gave jo a yellow card. This diver has the potential to join the ranks of Essien, Drogba, Ballack and Robben. Congrats to him.
4. Man of the match goes to....
JAMES!!!! There's no doubt about this. He's inspirational and magical. He controls the midfield, picked out strikers and controls the ball well. He made 2 assist and scored 2 goals. He's someone that any team wants on their side and i must say that Dairy Farm are fortunate to have him by their side. His skills dazzles your eyes. You have to put in 200% concentration in order to dispossess him which i did once haha. He's man of the match.
